1. Curator (Science), Salary £23,187pa, Job Ref:10/07
Main responsibilities include development, management and interpretation of
the collection of scientific instruments, photographic, computing and
telecommunications equipment.You will develop interpretation of the
collection and its promotion to a wide audience, and therefore good
confident communication skills are required. Ideally you will have a
comprehensive knowledge of the history of science and technology,
particularly in relation to science collections.
2. Science Communications Officer, Salary £22,511pa, Job Ref:11/07
Main responsibilities include developing and managing the interpretation and
communication of science and technology in current and future exhibitions,
events and public programmes. This will require a high level of
communication skills and a sound knowledge of science. You will take on a
proactive role in promoting the Museumıs image and exhibits through liaising
with and giving talks to outside organisations.
3. Science Outreach Explainer (Fixed Term to 31 January 2008), Salary
£17,500pa, Job Ref:12/07
Main responsibilities include assisting in the development of science shows
and delivering the shows to various locations, including schools in
Manchester and Salford. This is part of the Northern Outreach programme,
which is linked to other Museums. As a leading member of the programme you
have the ability to entertain, enlighten and inform a wide range of
audiences, including young people. This role requires a high level of
self-organisation, planning and motivation.
