Dearest Colleagues,

The ModaPalavra e-periodical Journal makes the call for
unpublished scientific research papers known publicly until november 16th,
2018 in order to compose the thematic dossier Fashion and
Iberian-Latin-American Cinema.

EN
Guided by gender and postcolonial studies, this dossier is an invitation
to value the representation of the latin Other in the globalized
intercultural
dialogue, reproduced and/or re-signified within fashion and film cultures
contemporary art. Latin America - including socio-cultural, political and
economic contexts linked to Iberian-Latin-American visual culture -
historically constituted as a space perceived as relatively homogeneous by
Europe and the United States throughout the 20th century, mainly through
forms of display and stylization of identities that are pretentious to
recognition, as well as collective representations incorporated into the
individuals divisions of the social world and organized, through of body and
symbolic appearance, perception schemes based on certain racial, ethnic,
generational, class, gender and/or sex. In this sense, works that are in
tune with all the primacy of contemporary fashion in the era of the image
and with the rich Ibero-Latin American cinematographic production will be
welcomed, fields that can approach to reveal how hierarchical and unequal
cultural models of identification they enter the scene to (de) construct
imaginaries and challenge mentalities in the light of new looks, places and
other perspectives.

Organization: Alberto da Silva (Paris-Sorbonne) and Daniela Novelli (UDESC)

Submissions: until 16/nov/2018
Publish: jul, 2019

We accept articles in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

socioculturales,
políticos y económicos vinculados a la cultura visual
ibero-latinoamericana -

Daniela Novelli (UDESC). Convidamos a

valorizar a representação do Outro latino no diálogo intercultural
globalizado,
e
desafiar mentalidades à luz de novos olhares, lugares e outras
perspectivas.

Submissão de artigos: até 16/novembro/2018
Publicação: julho, 2019
