Friends,
If you wish to master the arts of writing an article, I recommend this useful source on referencing, editorial questions, writing, etc. It will help with research publications, theses, conference papers, and even with the questions an author often meets in writing for the general press or for books.
The Little Brown Handbook is an extensive reference tool with numerous short articles to answer specific questions. It is well indexed and it offers examples that show authors how to address the issues that most authors face. While it is far too extensive and dense to read all at once, the many useful sections deserve careful grazing, browsing, and reading. Once an author — or editor — is familiar with this useful book, it will remain close as a valuable resource.
It’s available on Amazon. This is a relatively expensive book, but it is a serious investment for anyone who wishes to develop real skill as a writer, editor, or doctoral supervisor. Find it here:
