Here's the entry in Wilson Lyle's "A Dictionary of Pianists", London, Hale,
1985, p.118:

Gurickx, Camille (1848-1937)
b. Brussels, Belgium. Pf pupil of A. Dupont at Brussels Cons. Was granted
government funds to visit Germany, where he met Liszt who befriended him.
His Paris debut in 1874 led to other concerts and a tour of Russia where he
came under the beneficial influence of Anton Rubinstein. After working on
composition with C. Saint-Saens in Paris was appointed pf prof. at Mons
Cons. On the death of Auguste Dupont in 1890 became head of the pf dept at
Brussels.
