Do you know whether any archaeological work is taking place - it really ought to be happening at the time of clearance - when most damage to delicate structures such as hotwell boxes can inadvertently be done. Does the District Council's conservation officer/Cornwall County Council Archaeology Service know what's going on?

Back from a quick site visit today, the buildings have now been sold by
auction. Both buildings are still in very good condtion, although
overgrown. Walls appear full height, lintels in place, though well rotton.
The pumping engine house floor inaccessable due to the collapse of the
farmers Galvanised roofing, and farm debris/ stores still lie around. The
ground around is overgrown, so once the builders move in the site may well
be cleared to a stage to reveal much more, before the "beauty treatement"
