Bruce, Please may I have a copy of the history of BSF it will be very
useful. I have two editions of the handbook c. 1923 and c.1930. I also
recently acquired copy of a handbook for doctors compiled by the Harrogate
Medical Society 'Spa Treatment' for the medical profession only. c. 1930. I
notice that Katy was asking for contributions to her bibliography. I have
extensive collection on Derbyshire and others but before I offer to extract
relevant info from my database I just wanted to check whether I had already
sent you the data to add to your very useful biblio (copy of which I have).
I have mentioned to Colin re Harrogate and had better remind him again,
though he won't mind me saying that he is a reticent speaker. When we do the
talks I do the talking and he does the projector etc. Finally, we are in
difficulty with the millennium book on BUxton, we have not settled on an
angle and progress is very slow. We did have in mind to link the writings
of travellers from 15th C to present day and this amy still be the way to
tackle it.
Best wishes for the season and the new millennium. Mike.

>>Secondly, there
>>are the 1920's Spa federation (not that Spa federation) books that went out
>>to doctors (I will go home and look out their publication info) detailing
>>whose waters were best for what treatments and why (see also Matlock and
>>it's hydrotherapy chamber of horrors) they work. These are important for
>>covering some spas that were descended from Wells, which were still used on
