Absolutely, but that test stands in contradiction to the other scientific
tests conducted on the shroud. I am not an expert in the other fields, so I
cannot speak with any sort of authority on the quality of these tests, but
one struck me as hard to explain away by radiocarbon dating, namely the
preponderance of eastern mediterranean pollens.
Needless to say there has been quite a number of acrimonious debates that
have arisen over this.
