Steffan:
In the Eastern Orthodox Church, Baptisms are specifically
prohibited on the the Feast of the Theophany, which extends the prohibition
to include the services of the Vigil of the Feat and the Vesperal Liturgy
of St. Basil the Great celebrated on the morning of the eve of the
Theophany. The feast celebrating the baptism of Christ stands as the unique
such commemoration for the day. While the Great Blessing of the Waters does
occur,__ sometimes both at the Vigil and again after the Eucharistic
Liturgy of the Feast, it is not the water to be used for the immersion of
the baptised.
