Dear critical geographers,
You are invited to the Annual General Meeting of the Social and
Cultural Geography Research Group of the RGS/IBG which will be held at
the University of Sussex (venue to be announced) at 12.30-1.30pm on
Wednesday 5th January.
The AGM is your opportunity to meet the committee of your research
group, to find out what it has been doing and to become involved in
its running and future direction. At this AGM we will be seeking to
appoint a new publications officer and a webpage officer. (If you are
interested in either of these important positions, please contact
James Ryan ([log in to unmask]) or Teresa Ploszajska
([log in to unmask]) for more information as soon as possible.) We
shall also be seeking to approve our new constitution a draft of which
was printed in the last newsletter (again, if anyone didn't get one of
these then get in touch with us). In addition we will be inviting
suggestions for sessions and convenors for the following (2001)
RGS/IBG annual conference. If you've any ideas for sessions or if you
want to organise something else entirely then please come along and
share your ideas.
The lunch-time slots at this year's IBG-RGS conference have been
sensibly extended to two hours in length, so there's plenty of time to
attend this meeting, get lunch and catch up with friends.
We look forward to meeting you there.
Best wishes
James
