I am not sure that I understand correctly everything that you've wrote.
If the above means that academic curriculum varies from country to
country, that's certainly true.
If then your point is that anthropology should be considered as a
prerequisite for archeology (in USA?), would my opinion matters the
least? Surely, hundreds of other people are more competent than me,
people who also know what kind of archaeology, anthropology,
paleoanthropology, ethnology, etc. you may referring to.
But if your point is that evolution of our species as such is an
indispensable part of archaeology, allow me to believe that not many
of our friends-listmembers would conform with this view.
If something else, that eludes me.

So, allow me once more to respect "the rules of the game", especially
since they depend upon my own discretion.
But be my quest off-list, if forum is not a must.
And btw., I couldn't trace myself dividing sciences in "hard and soft".
I was under the contrary impression that I was defending unstrict
sciences against the usual testability's arrogance of strict ones.
On art and science, here is my two drachmas proposition:
if someone could provide a satisfying self-sufficient and self
restricted definition of what art is, that could be covering all
aspects of what one could generally call as art, in under a dozen of
lines or so, then such a conversation could be meaningful, as common
ground would have been established (and yes, that could be a trick
proposition :-)).
Until then, I hope to be allowed to observe and study.-
Christos
