Professor Luciano Rebay, The Giuseppe Ungaretti Professor of Italian
Literature here at Columbia University, published *Introduction to Italian
Poetry* (Dover). I would think that this economical edition would serve
as a good starting point for any class. It begins with San Francesco, La
Compiuta Donzella, Cecco Angiolieri, and goes up to the 20th Century
concluding with Ungaretti, Montale, Quasimodo.
