The following item appears in an antiquarian book
catalogue received today, codename "Farrago".
413. DUPUIS. A packet of nine letters from Mlle Dupuis,
a Swiss governess working in Russia, to Mrs Sawbridge,
a friend living in England. The letters were written between
1901 and 1906 and vividly evoke the atmosphere during the
Russo-Japanese War and the Revolution of 1905. They also
contain lively descriptions of society and shrewd comments
on character; Mlle Dupuis was employed for some time by
Princess Lieven, who became her friend.
The price is 25 pounds.
