To all
A point probably already made but to a certain extent why do we use a
/ separator when talking of Biology and Culture, as if they are always
totally separate. I do hesitate when talking of my personal
disability as a lifestyle but it is a view held by some and it is
certainly a mode of living. While there are some Biological or
physiological separations between me and Others - not everyone has a
scar on the right side of their brain for example. However my
disability becomes my mode of living and thus in a broad sense my
'culture'. My walking stick is part of my culture. But to me only my
personal culture, I am on certain about 'disability communities'.
Therefore why do we not thing of it as Bio-Culture instead of
Biological/Culture? They are definitey interwined.
If we start to muddy the waters between Bio and Culture it might make
it harder for Singer to argue for Euthanasia.
