RE: Blood of Animals.
The possibility of a Christian being martyred for not consuming the
blood of animals, might well have occured in Christian communities where
the fasting restrictions of cultic practice were held in high releif; held,
in fact by some (esp, Syriac Christians and their derivative followers in
the Hellenistic world ) with the univocality of idolatrous and blasphemous
behaviour. Such an event could well have happened and bear no indication of
absorption of a precept of Islamic practice. Likewise, such practices, that
is, the equivalence to blashemy, etc, was a common "low level' filter into
rural communities ( as opposed to urban ecclesiates and exegetes).
