In the long-runnig saga of thecampus diversity, Kay finally pointed out some
issues for a succesful disability-inclusive diversity program at the higher
eudcaion instutions where she points out the need for involvement of
students (with disabilities) and disability scholars:
"My point (perhaps poorly made) was that even a program that has such a
commitment needs help from disability scholars and students to bring them
the real perspective and experience. (Or, for those with Dona's enthusiastic
approach: to rattle their cage a bit.) "
Is her point feasible? In other words, are there any instutional and
organisational mechanisms in the higehr education institutions to get these
people as well as staff with disbaiilties, professional disability staff
such as disability advisors, compliance officers in the game?
