I am plagued by unwanted e-mail messages which emanate (according to the
message headers) from mailout1.mailbase.ac.uk and mailout2.mailbase.ac.uk.
I cannot tell which of the three e-mail lists to which I send this message
are responsible.
I do not really want to cut myself off from useful academic information but
I am finding that in the last two weeks a flood of messages about the MAI
and East Timor are reaching me from this source, mainly forwarded from
other lists on which the senders re-occuring frequently are Bob Olsen,
[log in to unmask], and [log in to unmask]
Since I cannot tell from which mailbase list these are coming, please could
the list owner(s) advise me about that, to allow me to choose from which of
them I should unsubscribe. Neither [log in to unmask] nor mailout2
appear to be valid usernames on mailbase.ac.uk but this is what appears as
the sender in the message headers.
I emphasise that I do not object to any of the subject matter, in fact I
would gladly read much of it if it was available at a time and in a form of
my own choosing (for example on web sites I can consult when I have time).
But I do find it irritating to have such a large volume of matter on these
topics muddled up with my work-related e-mail which I struggle to wade
through daily.
Mail is forward to this account from my other e-mail account,
[log in to unmask], and it is that account which is the subscriber to the
mailbase lists.
Please advise which of the various lists is sending me the matter to which
I refer.
