3D TV Production

Interactive 3D TV is seen as the future broadcast technology resulting
from the convergence of TV with the internet and low-cost 3D display.
Two
research fellows are required to participate in a three year
collaborative
project lead by the BBC and BT to develop a new 3D Virtual Studio
technology to enable future 3D TV Production. Research in the 3D Vision
group at Surrey will focus on:
(i) Photo-realistic animated 3D actor modelling.
(ii) Visual capture of actor motion.
Applicants should hold a relevant Ph.D. or 1st class degree/masters with
experience in computer vision and graphics are and proven programming
skills.
CVSSP is part of a top 5* rated research department and has a
state-of-the-art facility for broadcast quality virtual studio
production and 3D computer animation.
