Hi John
Below is the criteria for warning hospitals in Sussex which was last
ammended in Jan 96. Hope this helps in some way.
Sussex - Warn Hospital if indicated
Communications are vital. Advise the receiving AEU by emergency radio
telephone if you are transporting a seriously injured patient. This will
give them time to summon a Trauma Team and prepare.
Tell them:
1. Age
2. Sex
3. History (including mechanism of injury eg fall, RTA etc)
4. Injuries (obvious and then suspected)
5. Condition (GCS, Respirations, BP & T/S)
6. ETA
If the patietn is trapped then give the estimated time of entrapment. If
anyone is expected to be trapped for more than one hour, inform the hospital
ASAP. A doctor may attend the scene to assess further requirements.
