Hi all:
For code-a-text users out there, I have a question. Is it possible to
assign
multiple codes from the same scale to a particular segment of text?
Example:
I have a segment of text that says: "BMW automobiles and Toyota cars are
both well
know for their engine performance and reliability."
I have a scale item for BRAND of automobile, but can only choose either
'BMW' or
'Toyota'.
I have a scale item for ATTRIBUTE, but can only choose either
'performance' or
'reliability' to code this segment of text.
I also have a scale item for VALENCE which is assigned as either
positive or
negative.
Ideally, I would like to be able to assign multiple codes to this
segment of text.
My coding would look something like:
BRAND ATTRIBUTE VALENCE
BMW Performance Positive
BMW Reliability Positive
Toyota Performance Positive
Toyota Reliability Positive
I thought of repeating segments of text that require multiple codes from
the same
scale item, but I don't believe that is a good approach. Does anyone
have any
suggestions on another way for approaching this multiple coding problem?
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Peter Newman
