Hi all,
I know I should let this go, keep quiet, and remove myself from the
firing line, but I guess I'm a masochist; it seems I have a special
skill in antagonizing Carolyn and receiving her furies.
She writes:
> Although there are some experiences one has as a family member that are

Carolyn, nobody is claiming that the experiences are the same.
Laurence asked, is there nothing we can do to work on the same side.
And I was trying to point out that if everyone who *cares* about
equality in disability issues would work together, maybe we could get
somewhere. Maybe the abuse would lessen, if disability did not mean
'shame' or 'inferiority. Maybe financial struggles would be eased,
if benefits policies were more just. Maybe equality could be
approached if education and employment were offered equally.
Attack the issues, not the people who want to see change as much as
you do.
Cheers (Try saying it; it means forming your mouth into a smile),
