Henry:
The lack of understanding between professionals(social-worker) and people
with disabilities is an old problem. If you look at literature in area of
self-help and professionals or self-advocacy and professionals you see that
this problem is not only with people with disabilities, Being a social
worker with disabilities, myself- I can relate to the problem on both ends
of the spectrum. I think, though the question may be one of control, you can
probably relate better with the SW that use a less clinical approach.
maybe, C.O. group workers etc.
good luck
Maria
