Essex Libraries are pleased to announce a free seminar on the future of
citizens' information provision.
The SEAMLESS Project, funded by LIC, is developing a new model for citizens'
information which is distributed and based on partnerships and common
standards. The seminar will outline how the SEAMLESS model fits in with
current initiatives such as joined-up government, describe the development
of the project in partnership with local information providers, examine the
need and development of metadata within the project and at national level
and compare SEAMLESS with the CIRCE Project which has just been completed.
There will also be an opportunity to see the SEAMLESS system live.
Speakers will include:
Keynote address by a government speaker - Citizens' Information: the wider
picture. The crucial contribution of Citizens' Information to key national
initiatives including "joined-up" services, modernising government and the
New Library network
