At the SMR User group meeting in Leicester concerns were expressed by
some that the development of a SMR desk manual will impose standards
which might be unobtainable by some. In fact its our intention to
develop
working practice guidelines rather that to impose standards and we see
these as an aid to supporting existing staff and training new staff,
volunteers and students.
They will be your guidelines so it would be useful to hear your thoughts
about what you would like to see included in the document. I'm
attaching the detailed draft of the proposed contents of the manual and
will be very interested to hear your thoughts and any concerns.
