Johnson's musings are very good. In my case, the hard bitten social
scientist/policy analyst, I have experienced reverse discrimination. I
have written and submitted a considerable amount of poetry. The only
places I have published are college literary magazines and third to bottom
tier poetry magazines. Since my poetry does not explicitly mention
disability, no disability related magazine has even encouraged me to
submit more poems after turning me down. Non-disability related magazines
always do. Maybe it is lack of tradition for disability related
publications, maybe not. It has severely limited my desire to submit, not
