I had the same problem, which was the reason my Redhat 6.0 experiment
only lasted an hour or so. I don't see any information in the readme's
or documentation that tells what library Ox 2.10 was compiled against
(Ox 2.0a was 2.7.2.3), and I can't tell from Redhat's web site what C
library they include, but I think it's clear that there is a version
incompatibility. FWIW, SuSe 6.0 works fine with both Ox and R.
I had a similar problem a while ago - SuSE 5.3 used libc 2.7.2.2 rather
than 2.7.2.3, so Ox 2.0 wouldn't run, though 1.20 would. I switched to
Debian 2.0 for a while. I understand that some RPMS will be available
for Ox. That's a nice idea, but it would also be nice, and more helpful,
to offer compiled versions that are linked against several of the widely
used library versions. At any rate, many thanks to Jurgen Doornik and
whoever is compiling Ox for Linux - switching Linux distributions every
once in a while is a small price to pay to use such a great package.
