Hello Intarchers!
Here's another opportunity to whet your appetites and share your thoughts
about e-publishing in archaeology with the rest of the list (especially if
_you_ are one of the large numbers of people who have joined in the last
six weeks), I am very pleased to announce the fourth paper in our themed
issue on Digital Publication:
'From Real Space to Cyberspace: Contemporary Conversations
about the Archaeology of Slavery and Tenancy' by Carol McDavid
http://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue6/mcdavid_index.html
Carol dicusses how the interactivity offered by the Internet is enabling
the archaeologists of the Levi Jordan Plantation (Texas, USA) and local
citizens, including the descendants of the enslaved population of the
plantation, to use the medium to achieve new levels of understanding and
discuss the politically and emotionally charged archaeologies of the
area.
Given the nature of the article and the project as a whole, I'm sure
that Carol would especially welcome your comments via this list.
So, passwords at the ready!
Judith
