Training Courses at the British Library

     Environmental Information on the Internet

     Friday 25th June 1999

The Internet is an invaluable resource for many environmental queries.
It offers access to unique collections of data as well as
complementing traditional hardcopy and online sources. However it is
     proliferating at a bewildering rate.
This course looks at how to retrieve environmental information, from
all types of organisation. Delegates will be introduced to a range of
key sites on the World Wide Web. The course offers a mix of short
presentations and `hands-on' training. Delegates will receive full
course documentation including a list of URLs.

     Sources of Environmental Information

     Friday 2nd July 1999

This one day course is designed to introduce the rapidly expanding
area of environmental information. It covers printed material, grey
literature, on-line and CD-ROM sources and the Internet. The speakers
include both experienced information officers from the British Library
Environmental Information Service and outside experts, each with
specialist skills in a particular field of environmental information.
During the day the speakers will be on hand to answer any questions
     and queries from participants.
The course is aimed at environmental workers, researchers and
     information professionals.
Delegates will receive full course documentation and a free copy of
Environmental Information: a Guide to Sources (retail price 32).

Venue for both courses: The British Library, St Pancras, London NW1.

Fee for each course: 175 plus VAT (205.63 inclusive) including lunch
and full documentation. Discounts are available if you book on both
     courses.

For more information or to book a place on either course:

I apologise if you receive this more than once.
