Are you presently faced with change at work? Would you like to be able to
take these changes in your stride? Then why not attend the
'Dealing with change' workshop on
27 May, London
N.B. This workshop is not for those who are managing the implementation of
change. We have a 'Managing change' workshop on 26 May in London, which
covers this particular area.
This workshop has been designed for professional information and library
staff who are currently undergoing reorganisation or other forms of
organisational change. It will help you to identify and appreciate the
causes and effects of change; to understand your own and others' responses
to different types of change; to cope with the effects and to minimise some
of the difficulties.
By the end of the day will be able to:
* appreciate the realities of organisational and personal job change
* understand how change works and how it affects the individual,
working groups and the culture of an organisation
* identify some of the negative aspects of change, recognising them in
yourselves and other staff
* utilise positive means for preventing, avoiding, reducing and coping
change.
The workshop is highly practical with a mix of methods and materials to
provide variety and opportunities for learning about oneself and others.
The emphasis is on self knowledge and personal development.
Workshop leader:
Sheila Ritchie chartered as a librarian in 1971. With 20 years' experience
in management training in the public and private sectors, she now
specialises in experiential and simulation methods of training for
negotiating, influencing skills and behavioural change.
