ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED APPLICATIONS FOR THE POWER INDUSTRY
Colloquium organised by Professional Group A4 (Artificial intelligence)
and co-sponsored by B4 and Power Division and the BCS Specialist Group on
Expert Systems (BCS-SGES).
Tuesday, 1 June 1999
Savoy Place, London
AIMS AND SCOPE
Significant improvements can be made in many areas of the power industry
through the use of artificial intelligence technology and in fact, many
mature and successful systems are already in regular use. This Colloquium
will bring together those interested in improving aspects of the power
industry through the use of Artificial Intelligence technology. The focus
is on successfully implemented systems or significant large-scale
developments to directly address important problems. Presentations are
both from the technology viewpoint and the practical applications
viewpoint. Each presentation will discuss the practical problems being
addressed as well as the technical approach, the state of deployment of
the system and experiences/benefits from its use.
