You are all invited to a Day in celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of
Dorothy Garrod's election as Cambridge's first woman Professor to be held
by the Cambridge's Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology at the McDonald
Institute of Archaeology. Ofer Bar-Yosef will give a late afternoon
address on "The Proof of the Pudding: Garrod's Contributions to Levantine
Prehistory".
Paul Bahn, Brian Boyd, William Davies, Andrew Garrard, Roger Jacobi,
Janusz Kozlowski, Steven Mithen, Steven Plunkett, Avraham Ronen, Pamela
Jane Smith, Chris Stringer, and Mina Weinstein-Evron will all contribute
to a daytime conference. There will be an opportunity to view the Museum's
Exhibition on Garrod's Excavations at Mount Carmel as well as archival
video of the Skhul dig. Tea will be served at 4.15pm.
Registration is £5 either before or on the day Thursday 6 MAY 1999.
