EARL, SOCITM, MAPIT, BECTA and NAACE would like to announce:
LIBRARIES EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY: WORKING TOGETHER TO DELIVER THE LEARNING AUTHORITY
Date: Tuesday, 15th June 1999, 10.00am - 4.30pm
Venue: Wolverhampton Science Park.
NETWORKING LEARNING
There is no doubting the government's intentions: learning is centre stage, public libraries are at the top of the agenda and ICT the glue. Local authorities have a unique opportunity to shape their futures through Lifelong Learning Plans, Strategic Lifelong Learning Partnerships and the National Partnership Protocol, through the roll out of the National Grid for Learning and the New Library Network. To turn government vision into reality is the goal, to create learning culture is the challenge and to work in new ways to define the way forward an adventure.
This key event provides a unique opportunity for those in local government committed to secure the way forward and create the framework to deliver the networked learning authority.
Chaired by David Ruse, Assistant Director, Leisure and Libraries for Westminster City Council and Chair of the EARL Council, the day will feature a series of briefings from key figures in the library, education and ICT communitites and close with a plenary session in which to debate the issues.
