1. CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
SHIMR 99 aims to bring together people who are carrying out, or
are interested in, research in the general area of Health
Information Management and technology, and to provide an
information forum for The presentation and discussion of their
research activities.
Following the success of the three previous SHIMR symposia that were
held in 1995, 1996 and 1997, the fourth symposium SHIMR 99 will take
place on June 14 - July 15, 1999, at the University of Sheffield,
Sheffield, UK.
SHIMR 99 provides you with a valuable opportunity to hear and discuss
current issues of Health Information Management within an informal and
open atmosphere. Of particular interest to those in the international
healthcare community will be the keynote talk:
Dr. Peter Drury, Head of the Information Strategy Unit, at the
NHS Executive Head Quarters
"Implementing Information for Health"
SHIMR 99 will also feature a second keynote talk (to be announced),
papers, poster presentations, a workshop and a panel discussion, given
by speakers from Europe and the USA. All sessions will include
opportunity for open discussions.

This form should be returned along with a cheque or money order (no
credit card for the registration) made out to "University of
Sheffield.
The fees are: £160 if the form is received by May 25th, and £190
afterwards.
The fee includes:
1. Participation in all SHIMR 99 sessions.
2. One copy of the SHIMR 99 proceedings.
3. En suite accommodation in Halifax House, the symposium venue
(Monday night)
4. Lunches (Monday - Tuesday), breakfast (Tuesday)
