Hi all
I am investigating the effects of athletic amenorrhoea on the
musculo-skeletal system. I measure BMD and muscle strength &
balance (using isokinetics), and bone turnover among many other
factors. So far I have tested about 60 runners but I still need many
more.
Could anyone who knows of runners/triathletes who run >30
miles/week, are Caucasian, amenorrhoeic and/or have had a stress
fracture in the past year, please direct them my way. I am doing
the testing at the Imperial College School of Medicine in London
and the study is supported by a grant from the National
Osteoporosis Society. Travel expenses will be paid to subjects &
one visit only is necessary, athletes welcome from all over GB.
Please drop me a line if you'd like to know more.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Cheers.
