Smile, weird to be quoted from something I wrote so long ago!
I also want to share with the list that when I wrote that article I had
been through several clinical depressions and was having a hard time
dealing with STIGMA associated with a psych label ( Not the disability
part but the stigma). This past year I have had to deal with excessive
mania and the other side of bipolar disorder and some of my closest
friends have supported me but it was again very hard to be OUT and able
to talk about the symptoms and the experience. I find my Deafness and my
physical disabilities to be just so much easier on the world than my psych
disability. Thanks Ria. And others for being there, for all of us.
