Announcement from University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff
Informal interviews are being held in May and June for health
professionals who want to join Cardiff's MSc and Diploma in Medical
Education course.
The first United Kingdom taught mastership in medical education was
established here in 1988 and has continued to develop both in quality
and reputation. About 150 students have been members of the course
from a wide range of backgrounds.
The course is aimed at developing educational leaders and is
appropriate for any healthcare professional both nationally and
internationally. Course members have included Surgeons, Physicians,
GP's, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist
and Medical Educators.
The taught course can be attended either part time for two years or
full time for one year. Part time course members attend three-day
sessions in Cardiff about every six weeks during the academic year.
Course modules include Educational Theories and Methods, Educational
Media, Curriculum Design, Assessment, Evaluation and Educational
Change.
