*NEW*: Submission Details at http://www.teco.edu/huc/contributions.html
YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN HUC99
---------------------------------------
The symposium will bring together researchers and practitioners from
different communities to explore links and synergies between personal
and environment-based technologies, in the context of innovative
applications with thematic focus on "Interaction with Environments",
"Information Appliances" and "Handheld CSCW".
The venue is Karlsuhe in the southwest of Germany, situated in the Upper
Rhine Valley bordering Black Forest, Alsace, and Palatine. The symposium
will be held at the Center for Art and Media (ZKM), quite a new type of
museum which involves the public with interactive, hands-on
installations.
CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
----------------------
Contributions related to the symposium themes are solicited in the
following categories (see below for a non-exhaustive list of topics of
interest):
PAPERS: We solicit long papers (10-12 pages) and short papers (6 pages)
reporting significant research results in handheld and ubiquitous
computing, or describing design, implementation, and evaluation of
innovative systems and applications. All accepted papers will be
included in the proceedings, published by Springer-Verlag as Lecture
Notes in Computer Science.
POSTERS: Posters (2-4 pages) are intended to provide a forum for the
dissemination of late-breaking results or innovations. Contributions of
unusual novelty, and also speculative contributions are particularly
welcome. All accepted poster will appear in poster proceedings.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO WORKSHOPS: Contributions are also sought for workshops
held in conjunction with HUC99. For details see the workshop page:
http://www.teco.edu/huc/workshops.html
SUBMISSION: All submissions should be formatted according to
Springer-Verlag's LNCS style, and submitted electronically as PDF,
PostScript, RTF or Word document. Details see
