I am looking for help in the development of a priority system for
scheduling outpatient services.
We are re-designing our process for outpatient investigation of
patients who have solitary pulmonary nodules/lung masses. As part of
this re-design, we are developing a priority system so that patients
who need more urgent services are seen earlier and those who are less
urgent are seen later.
My question is: Does anybody use or know of a simple but explicit
scoring system to assess urgency for outpatient services (not just
for pulmonary nodule/lung mass patients)? If so, please forward me a
copy. An ideal tool would make physiologic sense and would be proven
to correlate with clinical outcomes. We are looking for a tool that
is amenable to measurement so that we can assess compliance with this
scoring system.
Thank you for your help.
