Hello friends,
I am new to this list and just read the post about Dr. Kervorkian. As an
American, who lives with CP, I find this man's behavior very frightening as
does the disability rights movement. Shaipero has written very cogently
about it in his book "No Pity."
I do not know the proper protocal for intro's on this list so will be
brief. I am an EPiscopal priest and a psychologist and have been involved
in educating the Church on issues of accessibility and inclusion for 15
years. I am currently writing a packet on resources for spirituality and
disability for a local uniersity advocacy program and will teach a
graduate course on Religion and Disability this term at Union SEminary in
Manhattan. (I live in Ithaca, NY--which is upstate.)
England is my "home away from home"--where my heart is. I lived there
briefly in '91 and long to visit soon!!
I look forward to the discussions and sharing of information.
