TWO LECTURESHIPS IN SOCIAL POLICY/SOCIOLOGY
The Department of Social and Policy Sciences is seeking to appoint two
Lecturers (one permanent and one fixed-term for 12 months) to join our
Grade 5 rated department and to contribute to our future plans for
teaching and research. For the permanent post we are seeking someone who
can offer teaching inquantitative methods at undergraduate and
postgraduate level,and other sociology/social policy teaching in any area
of interest.
For the temporary post we are looking for someone who can replace
Professor Ian Gough's teaching in the area of social values and social
policy, and comparative social policy analysis, while he is engaged in
full-time research.
Applicants with strong research and publishing records, or potential, in
any area of social policy/sociology are welcome to apply, but the research
should be relevant to a social policy RAE submission

Interviews will be held in early spring and we would expect the
successful candidate to take up their post from 1st September 1999.
Salary will be in the following range:
Lecturer Grade A £16,655 - £21,815
Lecturer Grade B £22,726 - £29,048
The appointment level will depend on qualifications, research record
and experience.
