Harriet,
You don't say what the focus of the research is which makes it difficult to
direct you to the relevant psychotherapy literature in this area. Are you
looking, for instance, at diagnosis or clinical process? As a general
model you can look at Strauss and Corbin Basics of Qualitative Research
(Sage) which describes such a methodology from a grounded theory
perspective. The main Journal to look at is Psychotherapy Research. For
instance there are two papers in the fall 98 ;one by Herlstone and Zuuren
which looks at intake workers perceptions and one by Honos-Webb et al on
the process of assimilation- both use qualitative methodology to explore a
predifined area of interest.
