Can you give some references for not using ES. In acupuncture you use point
stimulation to reduce swelling along the course of the nerve by stimulating
it. If you have a neuropraxia then you would get the motor resonse
initially and the nerve may return to normal function. One would expect the
same sort of result from using a faradic stimulator(and I have seen it work
extremely effectively for a patient who developed bilateral Bell's palsy's
(sequentially). I could understand your conserns should you have definite
anatomiacl damage to the nerve. Do you use nerve conduction studies or some
other method do clarify what is going wrong with the patient's nerve?
