Subject: RE: Why didn't the JAMA Editorial Board resign following the sacking of george lundberg? (fwd)
The first reaction of several members of the editorial board, including me,
was to resign forthwith. However, after we had been made aware of the
dilemma facing some of George Lundberg's unsacked colleagues at JAMA, some
among whom have done a massive amount to promote JAMA's interest in EBM,
methodology and research on peer review, we have temporarily delayed our
decisions on this. Speaking for myself, my decision will be influenced by
the AMA's response to the avalanche of criticism which the action of the
Executive Vice President has precipitated, and the call for his
resignation. Iain Chalmers
