"Casualty" is very much a soap opera, as compared to E.R., which at least
has some elements of drama!. Compare with "Chicago Hope" - where one of
the residents girlfriends turns out to be a bloke who's had a sex change,
then tops herself! Just like real life!!
In the States. the T.V. programmes seem to have been responsible for an
upturn in the number of junior doctors choosing Emergency Medicine as a
career.
"Casualty" seems unlikely at present to have the same effect in the U.K.!
