This is always a problem for the pioneering institution! In my
experience, a lot of the problems with software packages lie in the
fact that they never do everything you want them to do, and only that, and
they are never entirely free of bugs. (This applies, especially, to
Microsoft products) I would be delighted if anyone would tell us of a
package which proves an exception to this rule.
Having said that, our best hope lies in forming user groups - the MCG
itself could be considered a sort of meta-usergroup, as was LASSI, and
sharing experiences, as Norman outlines. I appreciate that this is
sometimes a problem for local authorities (though not, thankfully, in the
case of Glasgow), where the sharing of experience outside the authority
can be frowned upon.
Has anyone (else) experienced that?

Is this a standard disclaimer, or do Glasgow Museums really disagree with
you, Norman?
