Evolving Metadata Architecture for the World Wide Web: Bringing Together
the Semantics, Structure and Syntax of Resource Description
Paper discussing the need for a common metadata standard, capable of
supporting the diverse types of material found on the Internet. The
benefits of the Dublin Core standard are described in terms of
simplicity, semantic interoperability, international consensus and
flexibility. Examples of projects using Dublin Core are given.
Dissemination of Japanese Academic Journals over the Internet
Article detailing an Internet based document delivery service,
NACSIS-ELS, established in April 1997. The copyright charging strategy
is discussed for two models, an individual user model and an
