"STUDY OF THE RECORDS LIFE CYCLE"
Launch of the Report
by Elizabeth Parker
(for the JISC Archives Sub-committee)
Monday 5 July 1999
Pope Building, Room C14, University of Nottingham
The publication of this report follows up recommendations from an earlier report in the area of records management,
the "Study of the Archival Records of British Universities".
The aim of the "Study of the Records Life Cycle" is to provide guidelines to assist HEI administrators,
information managers and archivists in implementing records management programmes within their institutions.
This includes developing criteria for the selection of archival records from HEIs; developing an
HEI function and activity model; and developing retention schedules for records not deemed to be
archival with a view to creating a model scheme of archival records in HEIS.
The report is to be formally launched on 5 July at the University of Nottingham.
You are invited to register your interest in attending the launch using the enclosed registration form.
There is no registration fee but potential delegates should note that numbers may be restricted.
