Data Analysis and Evaluation: Commercial and Domestic Burglary

A one year contract - with good prospect of renewal
A suitable candidate is required for a research project that is
focusing on the analysis of domestic and commercial burglary and
the evaluation of associated crime prevention measures.
The post is jointly funded by the Home Office and the Merseyside
Police Authority. The appointment is for one year in the first
instance, with a good prospect of renewal thereafter.
The essential requirements include:
Familiarity with handling large data sets;
Expertise in the use of the GIS packages (e.g. Mapinfo, ArcView);
Strong inter-personal skills.
A masters degree in geography, planning, social sciences or GIS,
together with knowledge of and/or interests in commercial/retail
geography and experience of crime data analysis, would all be
advantageous.
