Dont know but there are some interesting maps in Royal Commission on Long Term Care, "With respect to old Age" cm-4192-I, Mar 99, Appendix 2 which show co-terminosity in particular NHS boundaries, County and LA boundaries, Social Services Boundaries .
You might also want to peruse the EDINA and MIDAS web sites.

Dear all,
Can anyone point me towards a good summary or documentation (if it
exists) of structures of UK boundary systems and identifying codes -
census/statutory boundaries, enumeration districts, wards, local
authorities, Govt. Office Regions, Standard Statistical Regions and so
on?
I've hunted through ONS, DETR etc. web sites to no avail - internet,
book or journal references would be great.
Thanks a lot
Ben
