The Department of Geography at the University of Edinburgh is currently
advertising a 'Lectureship in Hydrology'. We are happy to receive applications
from anyone with a specialisation of Geographical Information Science, with
interests in environmental modelling. Teaching duties will include a
contribution to our prestigious MSc in GIS, in subject areas which might
Spatial Analysis and Data Structures in Raster and Vector domains,
environmental modelling, spatial statistics. The successful applicant will be
included in a pool of staff developing research projects with the students.
The post presents an exciting opportunity to become involved in the active
research community at Edinburgh, with a significant critical mass of
researcher. We are lucky enough to benefit from well-equipped GIS labs, and
direct access to significant GIS computing resources, and a highly qualified

DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY
LECTURESHIP IN HYDROLOGY (FIXED-TERM)
We seek someone with research and teaching interests in hydrology/water
catchment management, especially with skills in modelling and Geographical
Information Systems.
Experience with ARC/INFO or Arc/View and familiarity with rainfall-runoff
modelling is desirable.
The post is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their academic career.
Salary Scale: AT2A point 1: #17,238pa
