This is perhaps an instance where your International Office
should have consulted with yourself prior to this student
being offered a place at your institution. As an
International Student she is prevented by the immigration
rules from having "recourse to public funds." Basically
she has to be self sufficient. I'm afraid there are no
easy or straight forward solutions, apart from costing up
the support she would require and letting her know what it
will cost her. Perhaps you could give the bill to your
International Office.
